ABSTRACT
Unfortunately, a high percentage of M&A deals collapse before completion. Since there are fewer M&A opportunities in developing countries and given the great impact of foreign investments on GDP, identifying the reasons behind these failures and developing in-depth knowledge of the process is of great importance and make a great contribution to their economy. Moreover, due to the rise of M&A, the knowledge provided in research help the managers, investment, investors, owners, shareholders and policy makers to not miss the M&A opportunity and improve the probability of deal completion. We will conduct a case study research to highlight: 1. What are the underlying incentives behind M&A deals initiation? 2. What are the factors impending the completion of M&A deals? 3. How is customized roadmap to facilitate the process in Iran? In general, this case study research aims to provide a deeper and multidisciplinary understanding and novel findings of this multifaceted and complex phenomenon, M&A, in an emerging market context.
